2009 Languedoc sehr vielversprechend

Tag: Regionensigi.hiss @ 21:36

Continue reading „2009 Languedoc sehr vielversprechend“

2009 in France – yet another great 9?

Tag: Ländersigi.hiss @ 22:00

by Jancis Robinson/FT but this is quite different! Read our members‘ forum to find out why this differs somewhat from the article that appeared in the FT.

Any analysis of the outstanding vintages of 20th-century French wine – 1929, 1949, 1959 and 1989 for red bordeaux, 1999, 1989, 1969, 1959, 1949, 1929 and 1919 for red burgundy – suggests that years ending in nine tend to have special properties. This year, 2009, looks, so far, set fair to continue this phenomenon in virtually all French wine regions. Continue reading „2009 in France – yet another great 9?“

SPAIN: Wine sales down, surplus hits producers – trade body

Tag: Ländersigi.hiss @ 11:14

Wine sales in Spain’s restaurants and bars fell by 4.6% in value and 9% in volume for the first seven months of 2009, compared to the same period last year, the Federation said today (18 September). Volume sales slipped 22% in July alone.

„The present economic instability has brought about a strong fall in sales in all the channels,“ said the trade body. Continue reading „SPAIN: Wine sales down, surplus hits producers – trade body“
