Wein+Markt: Die Rotkäppchen-Mumm Sektkellereien (RMSK), Freyburg/Unstrut, konzentrieren sich mit ihrer 2009 von Racke übernommenen Markenserie Blanchet ab sofort auf die Herkunft Frankreich. Damit kehrt Blanchet wieder voll zu seinen französischen Wurzeln zurück. WEIN+MARKT: Hawesko wächst zweistellig

Wein+Markt: Die börsennotierte Weinhandelsgruppe Hawesko Holding AG hat im abgelaufenen Geschäftsjahr 2010 kräftig zugelegt. Der Gruppenumsatz ist dabei um rund 12% auf 377,9 Mio. Euro angewachsen (2009: 338,5 Mio.Euro). Kräftige Impulse gingen „im Zuge der Normalisierung der Marktes“ vom Großhandelssegment aus (u. a. Wein Wolf und CWD), das mit einem Plus von 26,4% gegenüber dem Vorjahr abschloss. Decanter: Chris de Burgh to auction wine collection

Decanter: Yquem by the glass heads to London

by Richard Woodard-  Chateau d’Yquem lovers will soon be able to buy it by the glass at a restaurant in London’s West End. Bob Bob Ricard in Upper James Street is believed to be the only restaurant in the UK offering Chateau d’Yquem 1996 by the glass, charging £29 for 100ml or £14.50 for 50ml from 8 February.

Pioneer Foods and KWV confirmed today that their talks were off

KWV and Pioneer Foods have terminated Pioneer’s attempt to take over the South African wine and spirits maker.

The two firms jointly announced earlier today (2 February) that the proposed deal, initially announced late last year, has been called off because more than 25% of KWV shareholders were against the transaction. KWV said it had received receipt of enough shareholders who were not in favour of the deal, and that the 75% vote needed to swing the deal would not be achieved.
